NATALIA IVANOVA Ph.D.

Scientist, Metagenomics Group

Natalia Ivanova received her Ph.D. in Biophysics from Institute of Cell Biophysics, Russia. She worked in the Laboratory of physico-chemical mechanisms of genome functioning (Institute of Cell Biophysics, Pushchino, Russia) and with Dr. E.Selkov on the EMP project. Her research experience includes biochemical and biophysical methods for study of physical properties of DNA and proteins, development and use of metabolic databases. She is an expert in carbohydrate metabolism. Natalia joined Integrated Genomics Inc. on 1996 to lead the Metabolic Reconstruction group, coordinate development of the metabolic reconstruction maps, and participate in comparative analysis of genomes and gene prediction projects. Natalia joined JGI in 2004 to lead the analysis of microbial genomes and microbial communities.
